As with most American cities, food and eating out are very high on the agenda and scale of importance. There is a huge variety of places to go, all with differing themes, tastes and specialties and these include traditional American, steak and seafood, French, contemporary American, Italian, Spanish, Latin and Tex- Mex and much more. It is always advised to make reservations in advance, and also check if children are allowed. If you intend to consume alcohol, make sure to bring an appropriate form of photographed identification, as the legal age is 21. Prices obviously vary from place to place, but in general eating out need not be too expensive. Don't forget to budget for tipping, which is normally 15-20% on top of the bill. The following is just a small, but by no means conclusive list of some recommended restaurants to try.
